Why Young Moroccans Keep Returning to Ceuta Despite Risks

On Tuesday, Spanish King Felipe VI is arriving in the North African enclave of Ceuta, marking the first visit by a Spanish monarch in around 20 years. Ceuta has been in a state of emergency since a mass border crossing two months ago. Many migrants are living rough on the beaches and streets, while others have returned to Morocco hungry and injured. Still, tens of thousands are waiting for their next chance to cross the border. The situation highlights the desperation of young Moroccans seeking better opportunities in Europe. The Spanish king's visit is expected to address the humanitarian and political dimensions of the crisis. DW reporters Rim Najmi and Jan-Philipp Scholz talked to those affected.
