India Protests: CJP Leader Abhijeet Dipke Detained Amid Election Chief Dispute

Indian authorities have detained 31-year-old Abhijeet Dipke, the leader of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), shortly before a scheduled rally in New Delhi. The detention occurred as part of a crackdown on a youth-led movement demanding the immediate removal of the nation's election chief, an issue that has sparked significant online and street activism. Despite heavy security measures and the arrest of their leader, hundreds of protesters marched through the heart of the capital on Friday evening. FRANCE 24’s Navodita Kumari reports on the ground as the movement continues to utilize social media to organize and challenge the current electoral leadership.
