US Weighs 'Mother of All Bombs' Against Iran as Conflict Stalemates

The United States is reportedly considering using its most powerful non-nuclear bomb, the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), against Iran if President Donald Trump decides to escalate the conflict. CNN reported on Thursday that the option is on the table as diplomatic efforts to end the war have stalled since summer. The conflict began with US-Israeli strikes on Iran in February. FRANCE 24's International Affairs Editor Kethevane Gorjestani provides analysis on the potential implications of such a move. The MOAB, known as the 'Mother of All Bombs,' is a 21,000-pound weapon designed to destroy underground facilities and cause massive psychological impact. Its use would mark a significant escalation in a war that has already drawn regional and global powers. As the stalemate continues, the international community watches closely. The Biden administration's approach to Iran remains a critical issue, with tensions running high. Any decision to deploy the MOAB would have far-reaching consequences for Middle East stability and US foreign policy.
