Abdul El-Sayed Fires Back at Trump's Attacks on His Name

Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed responded to Republican attacks on his faith and name by pointing to the Trump family's dealings in the Middle East. His remarks came as he addressed criticism directed at him during his Senate campaign. If elected, the Michigan-born doctor would become the first Muslim to serve in the US Senate. He is facing Republican Mike Rogers in a competitive race, making the contest one to watch as the campaign unfolds. The exchange highlights the role of personal identity and faith in the Michigan Senate race, and how El-Sayed is choosing to answer attacks by turning attention to his opponents' own foreign business ties.
