Premature Giraffe Calf Milani Defies Odds at Kansas Wildlife Park

Milani, a giraffe calf at Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Kansas, is defying expectations after being born prematurely over the summer. She was delivered via cesarean section, making her the first known giraffe calf to survive the procedure. The birth was a rare and risky event, as giraffes typically give birth standing up and cesarean sections are seldom performed on the species. Milani's survival marks a significant milestone in veterinary medicine and wildlife care. Her debut at the park offers visitors a chance to see a remarkable animal whose story has captured attention. The park continues to monitor her health and development as she grows.
