While money is one factor—soldiers earn a decent salary, especially in the trenches—for many, the reasons go far beyond financial motives. Some are searching for a future, a better life. Others seek respect, admiration, and an escape from the realities of life in Latin America. For some, the reasons lie much further back, in their own pasts. This episode delves into the personal stories of these fighters, revealing the complex mix of idealism, desperation, and hope that drives them to risk their lives in a foreign conflict.
