Memphis Weighs Data Center Pause After Fiery City Hall Clash

Memphis, Tennessee leaders are set to consider a contentious plan today to pause new data center developments for up to a year — just two weeks after a meeting on the issue erupted into protests, calls to police, and a fist fight at City Hall. This report examines the proposal, the tensions behind it, and what the outcome could signal for other communities facing similar decisions about data center growth.
