Houthi Leader Warns Saudi Arabia: Prepare for Prolonged Conflict as Attacks on Airports and Military Sites Intensify

The leader of the Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen has issued a stark warning to Saudi Arabia, urging the kingdom to brace for a long-term conflict. This comes as the Houthis have escalated their assaults on Saudi territory, specifically targeting airports and military installations for a third straight day. The sustained attacks mark a significant uptick in hostilities, underscoring the group's growing capability and resolve to challenge Saudi security. The Houthi campaign has focused on critical infrastructure, including airports and military facilities, disrupting operations and raising concerns about regional stability. The repeated strikes suggest a coordinated effort to exert pressure on Saudi Arabia, which has been leading a coalition against the Houthis since 2015. The warning from the Houthi leader indicates no immediate de-escalation, signaling a potential protracted conflict that could further destabilize the region. These developments are part of the broader Yemeni civil war, which has drawn in regional powers and caused a severe humanitarian crisis. The international community watches closely as the Houthis demonstrate their ability to strike deep inside Saudi Arabia, raising questions about the effectiveness of Saudi air defenses and the prospects for peace. The situation remains tense, with both sides seemingly entrenched in a cycle of retaliation.
