Trump Forces Greece Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle to Resign Over Ethics Scandal

The White House has requested the resignation of Kimberly Guilfoyle, the U.S. ambassador to Greece, following allegations of ethical misconduct. According to reports, Guilfoyle allegedly solicited money from a Trump supporter and accepted lavish hospitality from wealthy Greek businessmen. The administration's decision to ask for her resignation marks a significant development in the ongoing scrutiny of diplomatic appointments. FRANCE 24's Fraser Jackson reported from Washington that the White House confirmed the request on Tuesday. The allegations against Guilfoyle, a prominent figure in Republican politics and former Fox News host, have raised questions about ethics and influence within the diplomatic corps. The move to seek her resignation underscores the administration's sensitivity to perceived improprieties. The scandal has drawn attention to the broader issue of political appointees and their conduct abroad. As the story unfolds, it remains to be seen how Guilfoyle will respond and what impact this will have on U.S.-Greece relations. FRANCE 24 will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
